Job Description Centurion is seeking an experienced Okta Engineer to join our team. This role is onsite in Washington, DC and requires an Active Secret Clearance.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
Seeking an Okta Engineer I to support the Department of State Enterprise Identity, Credential, and Access Management (SE-ICAM) implementation.
This role leads Okta application integrations, platform enhancements, and operational support while partnering with application teams and system owners across a complex federal environment.
The Okta Engineer I serves as backup to the Okta Lead Engineer, supports high-priority requests, provides Okta metrics and status reporting, and helps strengthen enterprise IAM capabilities.
What You'll Do:
Configure and administer Okta capabilities supporting Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Lead application integrations from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, deployment, and production cutover.
Configure integrations using Okta out-of-the-box and custom connectors and approved integration patterns.
Partner with application teams and system owners to define requirements, resolve issues, and support adoption.
Maintain technical documentation for integrations, configurations, operational processes, and procedures.
Prepare and submit platform and integration change requests in accordance with SE-ICAM governance.
Support application backlog management and prioritization.
Apply federal and Department of State requirements when configuring Okta services and integrations.
Develop end-user communications, user guides, administrator guidance, and training materials.
Support incident response activities requiring technical development or configuration expertise.
Produce Okta metrics, integration reporting, and status updates for program and leadership stakeholders.
Respond to high-priority requests, including priority integration, reporting needs, and VIP support.
Serve as backup to the Okta Lead Engineer and assume delegated responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Two or more years of hands-on experience configuring Okta and deploying application integrations.
Okta Administrator certification, or the ability to earn the certification within six months of joining the project.
Experience working with application teams and system owners.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
Experience collaborating across technical, functional, and client teams. Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting federal IT programs involving multiple IAM or ICAM technologies.
Experience with enterprise identity integrations, SSO, MFA, RBAC, and application onboarding.
Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
Experience with API Access Management, API security, or machine-to-machine authentication.
Ability to learn and become proficient in new technologies.
Experience researching and applying industry best practices.
Familiarity with change management and incident response processes.
