HVAC / Commercial Refrigeration Technician
Medders Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced
HVAC / Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our team
full-time .
We are looking for a dependable, skilled technician with experience servicing
commercial refrigeration equipment , particularly
walk-in coolers/freezers and commercial ice machines . The majority of this position will involve servicing refrigeration equipment for a major retail customer.
Pay
$25–$30 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications. The HVAC Technician position will be responsible for servicing a retail chain of 120 stores throughout the greater Houston area. Medders Construction provides a company work van, an American Express and fuel card. Please provide all refrigeration certifications you have achieved.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems
- Service and troubleshoot walk-in coolers and freezers
- Diagnose and repair commercial ice machines
- Troubleshoot compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, motors, pumps, and refrigeration circuits
- Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak detection
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC/refrigeration components
- Respond to service calls and accurately document completed work
- Maintain a professional relationship with customers and store personnel
- Work independently while maintaining communication with our office and management
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and refrigeration regulations
- Travel between retail locations as required
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience working with commercial refrigeration
- Experience with walk-in coolers/freezers
- Experience servicing commercial ice machines
- Strong refrigeration troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls
- Professional appearance and good customer-service skills
- Ability to lift equipment/materials and work in varying temperatures and conditions
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
- Texas TDLR Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician License required
Preferred: - Experience with commercial HVAC systems
- Experience servicing refrigeration equipment in retail or restaurant environments
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Electrical troubleshooting experience
- Experience working with major commercial refrigeration manufacturers

hands-on refrigeration technician who can walk into a service call, diagnose the problem, and get the equipment back up and running with minimal supervision.

walk-ins, ice machines, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and refrigeration controls are especially encouraged to apply.
